When a Hand is Held and a Heart is Heard

At Astoria Park, care is not just a responsibility. It is something we live and breathe. You can see it in the way meals are served with pride, in the way our activities are planned with joy in mind, and most of all, in the quiet, unscripted moments of connection.

 

One of those moments happened recently on a bench in our courtyard. It was not a scheduled event or part of a care plan. It was simply Jared, our Memory Care Director, sitting with one of our residents. They even held hands, a genuine, heartfelt gesture that really showcased the compassion he brings to his role every day.

 

There were no big speeches. No instructions. Just kindness. Just presence. Just a simple act that says, you matter, I see you, and I am here with you. This is what care looks like at Astoria Park. Moments like this are the soul of what we do.
